What causes acne?

How to get rid of acne?

Some important points to remember:
- be gentle – cleanse and exfoliate gently but effectively, without irritating your skin to minimize skin’s excess oil production. Scrubbing, picking and popping can cause irritation and leave the skin more susceptible to acne bacteria. Also, choose products with gentle ingredients that won’t dry or irritate the skin.
- give it time –there is no such thing as a miracle cure that will remedy acne overnight. If you don’t see results right away, don’t give up! It can take up to 12 weeks for your skin to adjust to a new skincare program before you start seeing real results
- stick with it– after your acne has improved and you feel confident about your skin, continue following your skin care program so you will keep seeing results
- get help– if you’ve been using a complete skincare program for 12-16 weeks and have not seen results, consult a dermatologist. He or she may consider prescribing an acne medication that can be applied to the skin or taken by mouth to supplement your skincare program.
